What is Executive Coaching?

  • One-to-one consultancy via face-to-face meetings, telephone and email support typically over a defined period, but also through short sharp sessions
  • Focused on professionally developing executives in the context of organisational needs


As a Harvard Business Review Study shows, executive coaching is no longer about sending people in to deal with board level toxicity. Today, it’s about developing the capabilities of high-potential performers.

Who is it for?

According to the Association for Professional Executive Coaching and Supervision (APECS), an ‘Executive’ has:

  • A level of leadership responsibility (financial/operational/people) and/or
  • Responsibility for policy formulation and/or
  • Makes a senior level individual contribution to the organisation


Executive coaching can also be applied to ‘successor’ talent both in and outside the organisation.
