Culture Audit

As part of our Comprehensive Audit set, the Culture Audit assesses an organisation's culture by analysing aspects of people's values and beliefs as communicated and manifested through the working environment rather than through opinion survey.

The Culture Audit is carried out by our specialist sister company, Human Potential Accounting (HPA), and can be used in three ways:

  1. To identify a disconnect between senior management and other groups within the organisation
  2. To identify conflicting subcultures within an organisation (e.g. between locations or departments)
  3. To establish the compatibility of two company cultures in the context of Merger & Acquisition

HPA’s expert consultants assess the culture of your organisation's working environment along four dimensions: Cooperation, Innovation & Flexibility, Vision & Values and Support. The Culture Audit survey design can factor in any pre-existing staff satisfaction surveys that may have been carried out.

The culture ma p chart shows where two merging companies or two subcultures appear to hold differing culture beliefs:

From this chart we can see that one part of the organisation (or Company A) is characterised by Cooperation and Innovation & Flexibility, where the other tends to value Support and Vision & Values more highly.

Where gaps have been established we can analyse further, to understand exactly which factors within the organisation contribute towards the culture, and HPA can consult on what the result means for your company and on what remedial action can be considered.
