With mediation increasingly being considered as a vital tool for internal staff to resolve workplace conflict, People Resolutions provide a wide range of mediation training programmes, from awareness sessions for line managers through to training HR colleagues to become fully accredited mediators.
Given that poor people management can be a main contributor to conflict-related issues, this intensive 1-day programme is specifically designed to instil best practice techniques in line management and handling under-performance. This course gives managers the tools to address conflict and apply key mediation techniques with their team members.

We work in partnership with you to identify the required learning objectives for each course. Typically this includes a scoping meeting with the necessary stakeholders to:
- Recognise the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to be an effective people manager
- Understand the principles of managing underperformance/capability and how this can escalate into conflict and counter grievances
- Equip managers with the best practice tools and techniques used to prevent and manage people problems (i.e. conflict)
- Understand how to adapt one’s communication style to prevent conflict and foster effective working relationships in your team/s
- Develop the skills, confidence and ability to manage and resolve people issues at an early stage
- Gain an insight into how informal resolution can work within an organisation
- Understand the process of informal resolution and the skills required
- Have an understanding of the informal resolution techniques that managers may wish to use with their reports who are facing conflict
Prior to training delivery we can also issue a Pre-Course Questionnaire to ensure that we fully understand the issues your employees face and what they would like to achieve during the course. This also helps to raise delegates' engagement in the course.

To encourage learning to be applied back in the workplace, delegates often need additional support. We offer access to our online hub of key materials relating to conflict management including Mediation, or can place this on your Company intranet or VLE, whichever is preferred. Within our secure knowledge platform, delegates can discuss with and support each other in helping them implement what they have learned in a secure, password-protected forum.
We are also happy to provide delegates with a development plan template to encourage skill growth following the programme.

The cost of our programmes are based on a number of factors such as: the length, volume, number of facilitators required, the specialist subject and whether the course is an open or in-house programme.
We can also provide Train the Trainer options for high volume, in-house programmes.
Prices for open programmes start from £220 + VAT and for our in-house courses from £100 + VAT per day.
